We are hearing more and more about alcohol abuse and women. There seems to be a growing trend in the 30 to 40-something year old moms that fall into one of two categories:
Caring for your toddler or baby has enough hassles. The last thing you need to worry about are their clothes. Babies and toddlers get messy. That's a fact of life. Use materials that are easy to care for. Make sure all clothes, including trumpette socks, are machine washable, unless you prefer to go down to the river and wash laundry by slapping clothes against a rock.Don't Forget the FeetThe reality may be very different. Knowing the power of the term ski-in, ski-out, vacation rental providers are quick to use it to cover a myriad of different arrangements and a range of proximity to the slopes. Here are a few things to watch out for:Pack for Three7)Stress-relief Use dietary supplements (such as MODER8 with GABA, 5-HTP and Theanine), exercise or meditation to relieve stress.2) The ski-in, ski-out home that is reached via an ungroomed trail through the woods. When these homes were originally built the developers cut a trail to them so that they could be sold as ski-in, ski-out. However these trails are very often too narrow for a snow-cat to use; furthermore, they are very likely private property and the lift company which grooms the slopes may have no responsibility for them. Only if the owners of properties served by that trail get together and make private arrangements for grooming will you find the trail in good enough condition for safe usage.Depend on Baby Bibs1)Get off your case stop trying to be Super Mom and be nice to yourself!Feet can be some of the coldest parts of the body, so always remember to pack on the trumpette socks. It's best to carry several pairs because they're easy to lose. Toddlers love throwing socks and other clothes around the room, so bring reinforcements. They come in just as handy as baby bibs!2)Stay at home moms that have become burned out by being the 24/7 housekeeper and nanny without any sense of personal accomplishment other than being the best possible role model they can for their children, and therefore, struggling to hide and control their drinking problem.4) Finally, there is the nirvana: a ski-in, ski-out home that is what it says it is: situated right on slopes which are snow-covered throughout the season and groomed by the lift companys snowcats daily. This is what is often now referred to as true ski-in, ski-out. However, you may find that because this real estate is so scarce it is also very pricey, or alternatively it is developed with rather high-density and charmless accommodation. The Aspens in Whistler is a good example of this. The situation is perfect, right on the slopes, but the accommodation is mostly fairly spartan. These are just a few ideas. No doubt youve heard most of these before, but you have to actually do them! I am in no way implying that you should neglect your other relationships or responsibilities. I simply know you have to get a balance in life and it starts with taking care of you, too!2)Stop the negative self talk! - Would you call someone you love fat, old, stupid, ugly, etc.? Of course not so dont call yourself those things.Toddlers have the patience, of well, two year olds, so make it easy on them. Choose easy pull overs that come off in one motion. Let them reach for the sky, and be done. Pants should be loose fitting so they can be taken off easily, as if they were playing a game. Trumpette socks are always a good match, as they just pull right off unlike traditional shoes. Breakfast will be complicated enough. Dressing should be simple.3) The ski-in, ski-out home that offers good ski-in, ski-out accessif youve chosen one of the 2 weeks of the year when the snow is down to that level. Many resorts that offer ski accommodation are down in the valley, and global warming has led to a raising of the snow line and a decline in the number of weeks that snow is on the ground at given elevations.
These are just a few ideas. No doubt youve heard most of these before, but you have to actually do them! I am in no way implying that you should neglect your other relationships or responsibilities. I simply know you have to get a balance in life and it starts with taking care of you, too!
